I am in love with this stamp kit from Hero Arts! What better timing to create a card a day before the solar eclipse. I adore this image of the child fishing sitting on the half moon. I used Crafter’s Companion Luxury paper to cut the silver round edge die and stamped the moon image using my Misti for the background since the fishing pole and line were not part of the actual die. I then popped the moon image on top to give a more realistic effect.
I hope you enjoy your day and the solar eclipse tomorrow!
Here are a couple of summertime cards I created. I just love the Patriotic card with the eagle!
This is another project that I created for my son’s girlfriend. I made this altered clock and card for her birthday. It has a Paris theme twist to it in remembrance of my son and her trip to France last fall.
I really like how the final clock turned out with the blue and green colors. I need to make myself one of these clocks some day. Actually, I love giving them to other people. Makes me happy to see them smile!
I have been very busy this year with my job and home that I have totally neglected my blog posts. I am going to strive to be more diligent with posting my creations going forward. So, I thought I would share some things I have made this year.
This card was created using an emoji stamp set by Mama Elephant. I gave this card to my son when he flew home on a whim for a weekend. It is always a happy day to see my kids!
This card is just simply beautiful and I just adore this vibrant flower background. I honestly don’t remember the name of the stamp company for this image. I colored the image using Kuretake Zig watercolor brushes. I just love how vibrant this card turned out!
I hope you have enjoyed this post. I will return with more items to share soon.

My daughter was down from Vermont a few weeks ago. She came to visit with us and soak up some sunshine! Since I didn’t get to see her on her birthday, I decided to create and present her with a couple of special gifts. She, like me, enjoys crafting so I she needed a craft apron. I took this apron and painted her name on it. She also enjoys a cup of hot tea like her mom so, I felt it appropriate she had her own tea box to store her tea bags inside. I created one for myself years ago, and I use it every day! I just love mine and thought she would benefit from having one herself. I have to say that she was thrilled when she opened it up!
Her tea box has a bit of modern flare to it. However, the designer paper I used came from a paperpack that incorporated a felt like texture on some of the papers. You can see this in the top part of the open box. I used various embellishments, rubons, and a metal butterfly to finish the lid. I just love the colors and how this turned out! She has already got her box full with tea! I hope she cherishes this for many years.
Have a creative day!
Here are a couple of cards I created last month and sent out for Valentine’s Day. These cards are layered several times with dies from Birch Press Design to create the lovely affect it provides. You can use the die cuts together, like I did here, or separately to achieve various results.
So, I have to ask…..which one do you like the best? The black or white card? I certainly can’t decide because I really like them both!
I created this simplistic card using a technique that was demonstrated by Jennifer McGuire called easy ombre background. I love the affect this card has and how the color pops! I can see myself using this technique for other cards and scrapbook pages in the future.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend and remember to be creative!
I just have to share with you this adorable little goodie bag I created using the Lawn Fawn Goodie Bag die! I cut the bag using red cardstock by Stampin Up. I used Stampin Up designer paper as an accent and also added the sentiments from Pinkfresh Studio. The red and white twine is from Lawn Fawn also. The key and the heart were some items I had in my stash for several years. I placed a gift card inside the bag and wrapped it up in red tissue paper. I just love how this bag folds over and the added trim and details of it! I actually gave this bag away as a raffle gift for a work function around Valentine’s Day. However, I can see many uses for this Goodie Bag die for other occasions.
Have a beautiful day!
I thought I would get started a little early on some Valentine Day cards. Since I was strapped for time last year, I didn’t get to use my Stampin Up Bloomin’ Love set and die that I ordered. It has been sitting for over a year on my shelf. I thought it would be fun to use it for these two cards. I just love the sentiments with this set! I decided to emboss the background cardstock using some Anna Griffin embossing folders. I just love how these cards came out and the use of both pink and red! Don’t ever be afraid to mix and match your creations with tools from various designers.
